My first! A long way from home, but a lovely challenge and what a beautiful part of France with the Pic de Midi facing the house!!!! The house is from the 1960’s not at all my usual palette, however, due to the flexibility and support of the clients we turned the house upside down, creating a large open salon, shower-room and bedroom in the loft space. The charpente was modified from inside the roof void therefore saving funds, opened up windows, under-floor heating (of course) and a fantastic Focus gas stove for effect but also heat. Designing furniture which would offer a varied drawer/shelf storage but also in effect pushing out from the combe walls. The whole idea was to create a space pleasing for the senses but practical. The old kitchen was transformed into the stairwell, removing stud walls to enlarge the hall giving wall space for the enjoyment of the art collected by the clients, old salon changed into the kitchen, also enjoying this magnificent view, the lime stone here is grey from Tunisia, very chic!
