Looking at these buildings one could be forgiven thinking both are the same, however, the structure on the right is the old farmhouse with the barn on the left, a previous owner had created a summer kitchen in the entrance. Lovely local sandstone with a stunning garden, the pool positioned within 18m of the house but out of sight, excellent for out of season but more suited for a principal house. Holiday houses, I prefer that the pool is very much part of the house area. The stair is in ash, a locally used wood, new and old oak beams, height is important to conserve a feeling of space and air, original fire place in keyed stone with of course an ancient evier/sink. All rooms are spacious which usually can be created by knocking down old stud walls and using imagination. A small pond was created close to the house with a fountain to create a feeling of tranquility, goes well with a gin & tonic!
